On January 23rd, the BC Utilities Commission (BCUC) announced the establishment of an independent inquiry into the regulation of electric vehicle (EV) charging service. With BC’s EV charging services currently in an early stage of development, the inquiry will explore potential regulatory issues.

Topics under consideration include the level of regulation necessary, if any, in the EV charging stations market and the rates for EV charging service.

Interested members of the public can participate by submitting a letter registering as an interested party or by becoming an intervener. Further information, including dates and times for Community Input sessions can be found on the BCUC site or by contacting Erica Hamilton, BCUC, Director of Communications.
